REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE
its all about the earth
To understand the foundations of healing our planet, we must immerse ourselves into systems thinking. Permaculture and biodynamic frameworks exemplify the paradigm we want to inform our personal and global work.

A Pause: Discovery of the Fibershed Community and Cross-Pollination Regenerative Visions
While we all find ourselves in a time of great stress, with the global economic shutdown and what I feel is a very misguided response to a public health issue, (a tale for another time, perhaps when we all can see more clearly in retrospect), I must admit to feeling grateful for this global ‘Pause’ button on many levels: not withstanding the pause on rapid fire commerce and environmental breakdown. This time of pause has given me the bandwidth to read the recent book “Fibershed: Growing a Movement of Farmers, Fashion Activists, and Makers for a New Textile Economy” (2019), a book by Rebecca Burgess, an activist, educator and indigo dying enthusiast, authored with regenerative scientist, Courtney White.
How inspired I am to discover my deep alignment with this idea of intersecting ecology, with all aspects of the fiber and textile arts, together with the aims of regenerative agriculture! I am optimistic that I might weave my own vision for a place-based Center for my emerging initiative called “The Jupiter Learning Project”, into this very ethos. While looking at the Fibershed community, I see that my dream of acquiring land in Vermont as the place-based Ecology Center of the Jupiter Learning Project, meant to serve as a community space, farming project, and educational center, may very well be cross-pollinated with a community of farmers and makers within this Fibershed community. Can you see it? Will you build it with me? Where are you and your passions within this community of makers and doers?
